The Church of the Apostles social cafe is open for business. Open every Friday morning in term time, this volunteer run social group come together each week to meet, chat and take part in healthy activities such as craft sessions, exercise, dance and pampering. Tea, coffee, toast and crumpets can all be bought for a small charge which goes into the running of the group. It's a great way of meeting new people who take part in a wide range of activities outside of this.
If you would like to come along it is every Friday morning from 10 - 11.30am at Church of the Apostles, Ridgeway Street, Miles Platting M40 7FY.

East Manchester's Sewing and Needlework Club
Come along and enjoy a friendly and relaxed evening at East Manchester's Sewing and Needlework Club. Bring along your own work or be inspired by Claire. The session and all materials are provided free of charge. The club takes places every Wednesday evening, 5.30-7pm at The New Roundhouse, 1330 Ashton Old Road, Openshaw. Free Healthy Eating and Cooking Course in Collyhurst
For six weeks starting on Thursday 3rd February Churnett Street Retirement Scheme will be opening its doors to local over 50s who would like to learn more about healthy eating and cooking skills. The course is completely free including all ingredients, so come along, leanr some new tasty and healthy recipes and then stay and eat together.
The scheme is at 5 Churnett Street, Collyhurst M40 7UZ and will be every Thursday from 2 - 4pm until the 9th March.

Baby Massage and Stretch in Miles Platting
If you have recently had a baby and are wanting to get out and meet other new parents then joining in a baby massage and stretch class is a great way to do so!
Baby Massage can help with parent child bonding, both parent and child relaxation and has a whole host of benefits for your baby's health including improved digestion, circulation and immune system.

Free Circuit Training Taster for Men in Collyhurst
Family Action run a Men's Health group every Tuesday from 1 - 3pm at St George's Youth and Community Centre on Livesey Street, Collyhurst. As part of this Zest are offering a FREE tasterof Circuit Training on Tuesday 17th January at 1pm. During 2011, the "Dirty Dozen" garden club began cultivating the grounds of Trinity Church at the junction of Greenhill and Cheetham Hill Roads with a view to growing fruit and vegetables for the "Welcome Centre" drop-in at the church. The club is now ready to take on new members for the 2012 growing season. Free First Aid Training
The Red Cross offers free first aid training to groups who are at increased risk of illness, accidents, find it difficult to access courses due to disabilities. Free Activities for older people in Collyhurst
Churnet Street retirement scheme is opening its doors to local older residents for weekly activity afternoons every Thursday from 2 - 4pm.
Since November local residents have taken part in armchair exercise and pampering sessions. We'll be restarting after the Christmas break on Thursday 12th January with a craft session on how to make your own greeting cards. Come along and then tell our tutor what else you'd like to make.
Sessions are free of charge and refreshments are served.
