First Stop Health - the bus is coming… The First Stop Health Bus is a mobile clinic, offering a range of free NHS health services and checks, at a time that is convenient to you, right on your doorstep. Hop on-board and speak to one of our trained health professionals today. The service is open to anyone who lives or works in Greater Manchester. The bus will visit the same location once a week for several weeks at a time. Free Nature Walk Leader Training

The “Canal Connections – East Manchester” project is offering FREE “ Nature Walk Leader” training which would enable people to lead their own nature walks. This would be an informal and fun afternoon session learning about natural heritage etc. it would be canal based but applicable to other settings. It would be an ½ day session of natural heritage training based round the Rochdale Canal, aiming to enable people to feel confident enough of their knowledge of the natural world to offer their group / friends a nature walk - or just to be more aware of the biodiversity around them. There is no obligation to actually lead a nature walk ! There are four dates of the training to choose one afternoon from, these are October 2nd, 4th, 9th and 11th . There would also be a day’s Walk Leader training following this,( if this is required) which would cover the practical issues around being a Walk Leader.
