Free Cancer Screening Awareness Training - Friday 22nd June

Places are still available free of charge on the Public Health Development Course: What you need to know about Cancer Screening The target audience who may be interested in attending this course are GP staff including practice managers and receptionists and those working in health & social care through the local authority or third sector, as well as community ambassadors’ and volunteers. This half day course is due to take place on Friday 22nd June 2012 – 1.00pm – 4.30pm at Victoria Mill Training Room, Miles Platting. The course aims: To enable participants to raise awareness and signpost into services To look at Bowel, Breast & Cervical cancer screening programmes provided across the city and to explore reasons for low uptake in Manchester To look at rates of cancer in Manchester, signs, symptoms and theimportance of early detection. To provide you with information about various treatment options and how screening programmes operate.
