Preparation for Refereeing Course

Being a qualified referee requires a person to be physically fit, reliable and be able to handle people, sometimes in stressful situations. In other words it requires a person to have a set of skills which are easily transferred into a range of jobs. Furthermore referees are much in demand and can earn regular cash at weekends. The FC United Preparation for Refereeing course is an intensive 6 week course to get people ready for the FA Basic Refereeing Course so they will pass it easily. Normally the FA course costs £150 but FC United will pay this fee for anybody who completes one of our Preparation for Refereeing Courses. FC United are starting two courses in November, one at the Factory Youth Zone and one at the Northenden Campus of Manchester College. The course runs from Monday 5th November to Friday 16th December. There is a session every day Monday to Friday from 9am to 12 noon. Each session includes some gym work and some football sessions with FC Utd coaches. Being Active for Better Mental Health - Free Course 14th November 2012

Free Nature Walk Leader Training

The “Canal Connections – East Manchester” project is offering FREE “ Nature Walk Leader” training which would enable people to lead their own nature walks. This would be an informal and fun afternoon session learning about natural heritage etc. it would be canal based but applicable to other settings. It would be an ½ day session of natural heritage training based round the Rochdale Canal, aiming to enable people to feel confident enough of their knowledge of the natural world to offer their group / friends a nature walk - or just to be more aware of the biodiversity around them. There is no obligation to actually lead a nature walk ! There are four dates of the training to choose one afternoon from, these are October 2nd, 4th, 9th and 11th . There would also be a day’s Walk Leader training following this,( if this is required) which would cover the practical issues around being a Walk Leader. Free Cancer Screening Awareness Training - Friday 22nd June

Places are still available free of charge on the Public Health Development Course: What you need to know about Cancer Screening The target audience who may be interested in attending this course are GP staff including practice managers and receptionists and those working in health & social care through the local authority or third sector, as well as community ambassadors’ and volunteers. This half day course is due to take place on Friday 22nd June 2012 – 1.00pm – 4.30pm at Victoria Mill Training Room, Miles Platting. The course aims: To enable participants to raise awareness and signpost into services To look at Bowel, Breast & Cervical cancer screening programmes provided across the city and to explore reasons for low uptake in Manchester To look at rates of cancer in Manchester, signs, symptoms and theimportance of early detection. To provide you with information about various treatment options and how screening programmes operate. Free Training for 19 - 24 year olds

Impact Training Centre is offering 6 programmes for 19-24 year olds. Courses include: - Introduction to Painting and Decorating course Driving Theory with practical experience SIA Door supervisor course Introduction to Hair and Beauty CSCS Card Food and Hygiene qualification The above courses is a blended programme which a Numeracy qualification. How do I know if I am eligible to complete the course? Have you lived in the UK for 3 years + Are you aged 19 or over? Are you unemployed? Not attending any other form of training or education? Have a National Insurance Number? If you can answer yes to all questions above you are eligible! Will attending this programme affect my benefits?
